Daphne Buxton Memorial Fund
Daphne Buxton lived in Rushall for much of the period between 1933 and 1996 and was the driving force of this small local community while she lived here. She worked on many committees, charities and welfare groups and was highly active, deeply respected and much loved.
She had an affinity for the countryside and a particular care for wildlife. It was this great interest that resulted in her giving a large area of land to the Community, creating the 20th century’s only new common.
To mark Daphne’s life and further her work a trust fund was set up to finance a range of projects for the good of the local community. This work still carries on today and this Fête is one of many events held throughout the year in Rushall.
Without the goodwill and tremendous support of all the helpers and supporters, the events organised by the trust fund would not be possible.
Upcoming events for 2008 are:
Monday 17th November, 7pm, Rushall Church
Daphne Buxton Memorial Fund AGM.
All interested parties are welcome to attend, to make nominations for Trustees, ask questions and to make their suggestions.
